Turkey passport validity rules for Bulgaria citizens
The rule
Your passport must be valid for 150 days beyond your entry date (Turkish law: 60 days beyond the 90-day visa-free stay).

By Turkish law (Law No. 6458, Art. 7.1b), your passport must be valid at least 60 days beyond your permitted stay. Most European travelers get a 90-day visa-free stay, so the passport must be valid for at least 150 days (about 5 months) from the day you enter. On top of that, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises 6 months of validity from arrival — and airlines often apply this stricter standard at check-in.
A worked example
Say you fly to Turkey on 1 November 2026. Your passport must be valid until at least 31 March 2027. If it expires even one day earlier, the airline can refuse you at check-in — this is the #1 reason travelers get denied boarding.
